I'm confused about exactly what parts I need for 60k service.

- timing belt
- timing belt tensioner
- tensioner pulley with bracket
- idler pulley
- water pump with gasket

Is that everything? Do I need a timing belt idler as well?

Your number one priority for the 60k service is the timing belt assembly. Make sure you get everything - belt, pullies, and tensioner. Contact Parts Dinosaur for a kit that saves you money on pullies and tensioner.

Since you will be in that far, a new water pump is a good idea, and if you haven't already installed a UDP, this would be a good time to do so as well. If you're really feeling productive, consider a new oil pump.

The main thing is the timing belt. If you have never had any cooling problems, then you could skip the water pump, maybe even leave out the oil pump, and get new plugs and wires along with new AC/PS and Alt belts.

To answer your question everyone raves to use the OEM and I've always found Goodyear to be able to make tires only and that is that...

A good option to go, which is what I just did is to use the Mechanical tensioner conversion kit with Water Pump , available from Parts Dinosaur...

Easy install and it supposedly lasts longer than Hydraulic tensioner..>It includes everything ya need for belt install...Go with the kit that includes water pump.....

I would seriously consider doing the water pump. When I did my T-belt, it was leaking, and you don't want to tear it down twice, and re-time it again.

-Pulley puller for the factory pulley, or one of those harmonic balancer removal tools for the AF/X pulley
-More beer
-PB blaster in case you run into some retarded bolt that shouldn't be rusted but is somehow rusted beyond all recognition

I hit all the exhaust manifold studs on this engine with PBB yesterday, about fifteen minutes before I was going to try to remove the manifold. (You know the routine: PBB, smoke break, PBB, smoke break, etc.) Notice how there are a couple studs missing. They didn't break. They just came out. I broke torque with the box wrench (one-handed, at that), then spun them out the rest of the way by hand.

PBB is the shit. Get it today. Even if you're not working on your car. LOL
