Just to make sure that my headgasket is good to go I took the car to the local mechanic to get it checked.

He got this cylinder and poured this bluish liquid in it. Then stuck it down into the radiator neck. He said that if there is combustion gases in the coolant because of a blown HG the liquid would turn yellow.

Well the stuff stayed blue but it just looked wierd.

Something along those lines, but it's true. My dad uses that, but it won't tell you if the HG is blown betwen cylinders (or any other way where combustion is not getting into the coolant).

yea exactly i mean your headgasket can be blown and not mix combustion gas and coolant.

I wouldnt worry about the headgasket though man, if you see no visual leaks, smoke, loss of oil or overheating, coolant tested fine and the oil isnt milky...then I don't see any reasons for worry.

• I've got massive, visual leaks (can't park in the driveway anymore)
  
• I've got smoke at WOT towards the top of the tach (white-HG & black-untuned)
  
• I lose a quart of oil every 400 miles
  
• I still don't overheat (considering where I live, this is pretty sweet)
  
• Compression test numbers are weeeaaaak
  
• The coolant has looked like baby shit for about a year, now
  
  ...and I don't worry.

Didn't you have it milled quite a bit already, or am I trippin?

I know I know I have been paranoid like crazy lately but I am getting ready to have it repainted and the way my luck runs once I spend the money on paint something is going to break so I am trying to get a lot of preventative maintenance out of the way just to be sure.

Head was milled just enough to be true by the boys at ERT. Reason it's leaking this time is because A) I reused original bolts one time too many and then B) installed new HG and ARPs without having the head machined. That lasted an entire month before it was leaking again.

I built my new mister/fan system last night, so I'll be doing more on the cars over the next couple weeks. Got to get this shit done.
