123027, Updated cell phone pics pulling engine

Well as some of you may remember, I needed to pull the engine and tranny because I spun a rod bearing and now I need a crank.

Here is just some pics of the progress. The ones from May 30th are the new ones. Hopefully should have the motor out tomorrow.

For those of you that have done it, what is the best way to take off the battery bracket. I could only get the bolt clostest to the firewall out. Would a offset wrench work on the front bolt? The one bolt on the end of the tranny is right in my way.

TIA!

Someone has to know, no matter what I tried fitting on it, ratchet, wrench, ratcheting wrench, I can not seem to get enough clearance to even get on the bolt.

I can get a wrench in there. It is painstakingly slow but it works. An offset wrench may work?? I think those are the worst to bolts of pulling the engine!! I hate them. Good Luck

I am going to grab some offset wrenches now. I can't seem to get the proper angle on it with my wrench. I know what you mean though, theyre worse than the passenger side motor mount bracket bolts, the notorious 4" long bolts in a 2" space.

:cheers

So I finally got everything else out and I can't get to the bolt closest to the motor on the shifter cable bracket. I need to get another 13mm 1/4 in drive for it. Hopefully tomorrow it should be coming out finally.

True that... I just wish I had the money for a stroker crank now...

Well guys, I finally got that bitch out of there!! :cheers I don't know which was worse, the bolts for the battery bracket, or the ones for the shifter linkages... Now I just need an engine stand, and take the tranny off. I can change my crank with the new bearings, and put it all back together. Here's some pics of the engine out up in the air. I just need a friend to snap some tomorrow of me in the engine bay..

Just keeping you guys updated. I am just about to pull the bedplate off, I just need to take off the crank sprocket. I could not find the longer bolts anywhere or anerobic sealer. I finally broke down and ordered one of the factory pullers and sealer from Chrysler. Only about $40 for the tool, I couldn't believe that!!
