{i searched but i couldn't find anyone with the same problem few close but no ideas so here it is} i just bought a 98 gs was turbo'd but i'm putting it back to na for the moment, it had a aftermarket fan on it, well its been removed and i installed the stock fans back, well now when the car idles it will idle until warm then the needle continues to rise, the fan will not kick on i checked the relays fuses and wiring all look good, but fan will still not come on, the ac heater will not blow at all checked relays and fuses also the hvac lights come on but nothing when i change switches, changed resistors did nothing, blower motor maybe? anyway to check it? really worried about the fan not working, but while i was writing, also the sunroof does not work checked fuses also, any way to check if its the motor? TIA, really need help out of ideas, thanks

Wire the fans directly to a toggle switch temporarily to see if the fans are the problem, then work your way throught the wiring after you find out if they work or not. Note, only the drivers side fan will kick on when it's needed, the passenger, or the a/c fan will kick on when you turn on the ac, or when it's needed. It's a start...

Anyhow, try that, and let us know how that worked out.

whats the best way to wire them to a switch i've seen a few different methods suggested? also theres a plug coming from steering column with three wires that i can't find anywhere to plug it into, is this anything important? it has a green blue and red wire going into the plug anything important?

Whoa. Not sure off the top of my head. Maybe azdave will see this thread. He's spent more than his share of time under the steering column working with wires. ;)

As for the fans, the simplest fix which will allow you to drive the car would be to hardwire the fans. A search for hardwire fan, fan mod, fan switch should help get you on the road.

The AC blower, on the other hand, is up inside the dash and likely a blown fuse somewhere. Come to think of it, have you checked the fuse panel inside the car? Under the hood?

I'm not sure if the FSM has a wire diagram in it, but you can look at az2gnt.net/FSM

Good luck to you.
