IIRC, you can use the stock ones. I believe the difference is the PT style rollers/followers are stronger than the stock 2gnt ones.
I don't really know much else about it, but if you're replacing one, might as well replace the other, unless you don't have the money for it.

I believe the rockers need to be changed to, I thought they enlarged the hole in them to match with the larger oiling hole in the lifters.

The PT ones are also lighter if I'm not mistaken.

the only reason i ask is because $$$$ is tight. Just bought clutch master stage 3 je 8.8:1 piston eagle rods, crank, bearnings new lifter, turbo kit 310cc injectors fpr, bore and honed.

You've spared nothing so far, just wait the couple extra pay checks to buy them.

Are you currently boosted? If you don't have the turbosystem installed yet, you have no need of those injectors and FMU. I'd see about returning them or selling them quick-like to fund the followers. They won't do anything for you, otherwise.

Is there any other difference between the stockers and PT Cruiser lifters/followers, other than the larger oiling hole, and lighter weight? Just curious.

I got both. Should be putting it in this weekend fri sat and sun. and going to run 13lb of boost

122455, RE: lifters Posted by turbo8u, Jan-25-06 09:14 AM
dont run 13lbs of boost until its broke in choad
run it NT for break-in
i just dont want to see you nuke it
edit: and just while im here, use 10w40 valvoline for the break in period. when you FIRST start it let it get to operating temperature before you do anything else. just let it completely warm up. dont rev it, dont do shit. check for any leaks and then do the initial break in:
accelerate (not hard, just cruise) in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. dont really need to go over 65. give it about 40-60% throttle because the rings NEED the pressure. (pch or basilone is good for this) and then DECEL (rpms up, off the throttle, stay in gear and use the engine as a brake) decel down to lower rpms then accel again. dont bring it past about 5000. do this as many times as you can (30x at diff speed/gear combinations) after youve done this...go back to the shop, flush the oil with new 10w40 and use this for about 500-1000 miles. the key to the intitial break in and best possible ring seal is LOAD the rings up (accel, throttle), and then to build strong vaccuum (decel) to encourage ring seal. dont romp the shit out of it, but dont pussy foot it either. 40-60% throttle is fine. again the LOAD aspect is critical. (am i getting repetitive here? lol)
the initial break in oil with have little chunks of shit in it from assembly lube and micro metal fragments from the rings seating and whatnot. a good majority of the ring sealing is done when it FIRST fires and makes compression, but the first 20 miles are critical.
your motor should be just fine, just dont turbo it until its broke in man....especially with whatever random fuel system you have. break in the motor THEN dial in your fuel and boost. my best advice.
and of course e-mail me if you have any other questions or run into any stupid problems.
p.s- send me an extra intake manifold and ill port it and flowbench it for you
GOOD LUCK. sucks ass i cant be there.

There are soo many philosophies regarding engine break-in, read here:
