Ok I have seen it discussed already, but has anyone actually used this? I am soon going to be redoing the timing on my car and I can get the timing belt, idler bearing, tensioner bearing, and the new-type tensioner for $127.10 shipped... just curious if I should really upgrade to this or not. If not I can just buy the timing belt for 36.95 and use my old bearings and tensioner. Thanks.

Already ordered mine. Just waiting to get home to NY to be able to get it onto my car now that I'm finally back from Iraq. I'm gonna do a nice write up with pics since I'll have the engine out of the car during the process. I'll post up as soon as I can after it's done.

there is something wrong with my car and it has to do with the timing.. i believe my timing is wright. but there is oil on my spark plugs. and it is fouling out what do i do to fix it??? what is wrong and what do i do?? I live in Hampton Va if anyone can help me email me at 95Talon2cox.net please some one help me.. i dont know how to put up an ad thats why i did it this way..

Hit the search button at the top, that will help.
Also, is the oil on the top of the plug, or the bottom of the plug? If it's on the bottom (the part that goes into the cylinder), then either your rings or valve seals are bad. Or, if it's on the top (where the plug wire attaches), then it's the valve cover gasket, which is easy to do.
Do a search, read, the info's here. If you post and haven't searched, then you'll get flamed.

If you search there should be several examples of people whose timing belt tensioner BRACKET (the square thin metal piece) broke on them. Mitsubishi wanted something like $600 in 2000 to replace the entire tensioner bracket "assembly", tensioner, and pulleys with my timingbelt. They refused to honor my warranty unless I had them install the entire assembly before 60k miles. They assured me that my tensioner bracket would snap and cause catastrophic failure unless I did it. So, while we all know most people get away with 150k miles on a stock timing assembly, this shows Mitsu was well aware of the problem 5 years ago.
At any rate, the SRT4 and 4g63 both use this style of tensioner.
