122394, Preventative Maintence For A Long Trip Posted by EclipseTenzoR, Feb-04-06 01:33 PM
Hey, I am in Florida right now and my car will need to make a 900 miles trip from Jersey to here. I was wondering if you guys can post some suggestions on a preventative maintence for the long trip down here. Here is a list of what I have planned to be done so far.
All New Tires- (Really Need Them) Alignment New Spark Plugs New Wires Fuel Treatment New Air Filter (What size is good for the hahn stage 1 kit. I forget the model number of what someone made a post about)
And of course a car wash to represent during the trip
Anything else?
Edit: 108K Miles and compression is 180 on all 4 cylinders.

lmao, I know I have been around for awhile, but I am just curious as to what some of you may do when you know you are about to embark on a long trip? What are you most concerned about. Are there any parts I should be specifically concerned about other than what I had mentioned.

Properly inflate your tires! Very important as you will reach higher speeds for long intervals. Too little air = crappy milege and too much equals a blowout. Other than that, just check your fluids!
