I recently bought a replacement chip mod for my 96 talon esi. Now, Im discovering that the ecu board is covered with some rubbery clear type substance. I was wondering if anyone else has bought this chip and installed it etc?

dude put your ecu back together your not modding it with no chip. to the best of my knowledge there is no such chip for our ecu, i might be wrong but im willing to bet that chip you purchased is a 99 cent resistor that you are sappose to hook to your iat sensor and get 20+hp, its a bunch of crap so throw it away and this topic has been discussed hundreds of times before. im probably gonna get bashed for even replying to this post but do a little more research on this site and mod your car the correct way, there is no magic chip for hp.

this auction is probably just a chip made for the 4g63 they have cracked that computer years ago they even have a complete private code called the DSMlink outhere

my intuition just tell me that they put the wrong year in the add with a 96 instead of 94

yup, i knew it was wrong in SOME way, i pretty much convinced our 95-96 ECUs are unmoddable, unless we swap to he 97-99 ones...damnit...once i get my degree ill work on a super ECU for our cars!

fixed for correctness. and even then, its not really modable..its already been changed. and unless you wanna repin your harness..its only avail for 97's

Your telling me that this guy can "retune" your car "better" then an Oem that has millions of dollars on R&D and Thousands of man hours just to get some decently running tables? And then have the resources to sell theese at 35 bucks... right
