Ok so I went to Advance and got them to check my codes.

Car: 95 Eclipse RS

Problems: Check Engine Sometimes is on only after warmup, sometimes stays on when cold.

Key Dance Codes: 12, 11, 55

Advance OBDII Results:

"P1390:
Manfacurer Contrl.
Igntions System Misfire" - Only code they got.

I have an extra coil pack I was going to try. All of my plugs look fine. No Oil, White/tannish color, No signs of wear.

My question is: What could cause this besides plugs or coil pack? Would this have something to do with the code 11 and check engine only comming on sometimes? Thanks in advance.

I have the same CEL code, 11 and same year model.
The P1390 actually means timing belt skipped one tooth, however, I would put that aside right now... unless you recently did a timing belt change. So, you're saying your CEL only comes on sometimes? When your CEL comes on, does anything happen to the car? For example, does the car turn off randomly or buck whenever the light comes on/turns off?

If you have an extra coil pack, I'd say go ahead and swap it in to see if it solves anything; it wouldn't hurt. If not, you have 2 good coil packs and could probably sell one. :P Then move onto the plug wires and spark plugs. Let me know how things turn out.

Well, I was thinking... you mentioned that your plugs were completely fine. You could be having a short somewhere among your harnesses, possibly. If you still have the EGR pipe, take a look at the harness that runs right along underneath it; sometimes the EGR pipe likes to get hot, exposing the wires and then shorting them out.
Although, I'm just trying to give suggestions as I'm still trying to find out how to get rid of the damn code myself. :shrug

Well not sure how old timing is but I kno it has been done. It has a Good Year gator belt. I dont think its timing because the car runs great. And no when the cel pops on it never jerks or anything.

I think you're going through the same EXACT & I mean the EXACT damn problem I'm going through. It sucks, because my car runs completely fine as well, but the code 11 CEL likes to pop up randomly; meaning it'd be kinda difficult to track the issue right away because it likes to go away.

I also have an extra coil pack I'm going to throw on tomorrow to see if it does the trick. Right now I'm running on an MSD Blaster Coil and MSD 8.5mm plug wires.

What exactly have you replaced lately? I've done the following:
Camshaft and Crankshaft Position Sensors
Idle Air Control valve

only thing i have changed is oil and intake lol.

Does your temp gauge go up ever ? And move around?
Imma check my sensors tomorrow. See if any are loose

It only moves up to operating temperature, lol.
I have a fairly new radiator that was on the car when I bought it.

Anyone have anything to chime in possibly?

You know what, for my situation, I'm wondering if it's as stupid as the gap on my plugs. Because I buy the BKR6ES-11 NGK spark plugs and simply toss 'em in there without gapping them. Apparently they're pre-gapped? Could this constitute to the problem at all?

I just use the regular ngk v-powers but mine were NOT pre-gapped.
I would check that out.

I feel bad for taking over this guy's thread, but I have already replaced my crank sensor. However, I'm going to go in and re-due it since I half-assed it by just twisting the wires together and shrinking heat-shrink tubes onto the connections.
