Just jump in and do it, it took me 30 min to do it this afternoon, the hardest part is breaking the bolt loose on top of the filter, BANME! any 2gnt can do this

I had no problem breaking that bolt but then I couldn't take the filter off the bottom fuel line.

Is this correct, the filter is screwed to the line and has to be unscrewed?

It is advised to oosen the filter from the bottom line. Why? Because many times with cars of this age, the nut on the hardline (that screws into the filter) corrodes to the actualt hardline. So when you try to loosen that nut the line twists and breaks. If you remove the top banjo fitting first you can spin the filter from the lower line then take some pb blaster and clean up the nut on the lower hardline so it works as designed.

I couldn't seem to do anything, I had two proper wrenches like in the walkthrough but it wouldn't move. I used plenty of pb also.

I even asked a friend who pushes some decent lbs at the gym and he also couldn't do it. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong.

seriously though, fuel filter can be done in like 10 minutes with some man power, just make sure you dont re-use the copper crush washers and you get yourself some new ones. They usually come with the filter. bleeding fuel onto the road is not an effective fuel pressure bleed, unless you like 100 miles to the tank and the possibility of flames chasing you home.

I thought it was easy as long as you don't undo the bracket that holds it until both bolts are out of each end. The first time i had to break the bottom bolt with the filter undone from the bracket. PITA.

Err I tried to do the same...

so actually the filter should stay attached to the firewall and the bolt at the bottom should be unbolted?

oops. :D

i actually left the bracket bolted tot he firwall, then went to town with some good ol fashoin elbo grease and didnt have any issues, like i said, just takes a lil finess
