My spark plug hole got stripped while compression test/spark change, is there any fix to this or do I need a new head? TIA. Hektik.:-(

you might be able to helicoil it...but then again you might need a new block

I had a spark plug blow out of the motor once, and it took all of the threads with it. NAPA sells threaded spark plug inserts. All i did was tap out the hole, coat the insert with thread locker, and screwed it back into the head. That was the quick version... if you want a more detailed explanation email me urun4cvr@cox.net

I've never been a big fan of helicoiling the sparkplug hole, especially when you're thinking about turbo. I'm not saying it doean't work, but I am saying, if it were me and I had money saved up anyway, I'd get myself a kick-ass head with upgraded valvetrain, P&P job, SS valves, the whole nine. That way you'll have a really good platform to build off of when you do get the turbo, and you'll also be more careful next time cause you know how much it cost to put that head on :P Good luck with whatever you decide to do, a heli-coil should work, it does for many people.

helicoil can be found at any local parts store most of them carry it a few may have to order it and they do come with general instructions or you can take it to a shop they did mine for 122$ not that bad plus if there was any shavings in there they will pay to fix it could work out if your not too sure about doing it after you read the directions then take it to a ase cert person shouldn't cost too much. imo
