121667, Anti Freeze in Oil pan!!! Need Help!!! Posted by mitueclipesturbo, Jun-24-06 12:33 PM
So I finally got my car running after the rebuild and turbo installed. I ran it for two days and then i parked it in my driveway. I went back out to the car to go to work and i notice a leak on the ground.
So i started the car and watched to see where it was coming from and sure enough it was the oil pan.
Well, it was anitfreeze that was leaking out from the oil pan, and oil filter. So my question is it the head gasket or something else. Could it be the bed plate? I need help fast.
Thanks

Maybe the holes in the headgasket weren't properly aligned; just thinking out loud.

It's the headgasket, or a crack in the block. Do a compression test.

Is coolant actually IN the oil pan or is it just dripping off the outside of the pan near the filter? IF its just dripping near the filter, it is possible that the water pump gasket/ring isn't seated right and leaking slightly. It will trail along the block and drip down around the oil pan/filter....don't ask me how I know. :(

I agree. Why would coolant be dripping out of the filter and pan, and not oil. I'm betting on it leaking from a hose or the water pump, as stated above. Do some more searching.
