alright im rebuilding my engine and while im at it im geting rid of EVERYTHING that i can the evap canister is it nessasery to have it? i do not have emissisions heres a pic of what im talking about

While the EVAP isn't necessary for the car to run, it dosen't hurt being there. Why not just leave it?

well i broke one of the aluminum lines going to it when i pulled the motor and if i cant use it why have it? but if it has to be there i would have to run more lines.

If you do not have emissions then get rid of it. Keep in mind it does release excess fuel vapors from the gas tank.

Agreed. To combat the vapors, just run a rubber hose to just under the engine bay so the vapors go under your car and out. Or you can get a relief valve from the dealer (MB925886 Valve-Fuel Vapor Control) which has a spring and will only release vapors after a couple psi have built up. This would also keep dust and other crap out of your tank. It only costs a couple bucks, so you could run a hose to the valve, and then another hose to wherever you want (i.e. under the car).

Sell it to someone in Kalifornia that needs it. Those parts are worth a few hundred to us.

Ten points for cutting the harness at the plug and then asking if you needed it.
