121349, new car has problems

Just bought a 97 eclipse with loads of mods.It was repoed from a guy, and he ripped out his alarm and msd box before they took it.Its not getting fire,so what do you think i should be looking for?I know it has something to do with hooking the factory ignition system, but were do i start?

Ripped the MSD box and alarm out...

I would start with getting a schematic for the MSD 420A install, then making sure any wires that were re-routed/disconnected for that are back to normal.

Alarm wiring will need to be gone over as well, although the MSD probably has more to do with your issue.

Good luck!

You can download a schematic from MSD if I'm not mistaken, when Mikey and I installed his I think it was only 3 or 4 wires and a jumper harness that just plugged in. It SHOULDN"T be that bad. First things first is check the coil and see if the coil is seeing power, if not check cam, then crank, if still not then you have a bigger problem.

Well been tearing into it.Why whould they cut the camshaft sensor wires?when he ripped it out he cut the dis wires and camshaft ps wires.does the msd dis hook up like that? Also shouldnt there be two wires in the middle of the coil harness?

No the DIS does not connect that way, you need to reconnect the cam sensor wires. The DIS connects through the coil wires.

What im asking is they put new connecters on the coil and cam/crankshaft sensors, but i dont know if there in the right place on the plug. Cause the new plugs wires are diff color than than what comes off factory harness.Diagrams are just telling me what color goes to what plug not were at in plug.Or could someone take picks of there coil, cam, crank sensor plugs so i can see what color wire goes were.Ok the cpu hums.like hi voltage. Is that normal?

Well found the original owner. He works at Orielly auto.He wasn't working today but spoke to someone who knows him.Said he bought the car running but quit running after a while, and it was in the shop for a while they couldn't figure it out either. So now im 3rd generation working on this thing.mainly im not getting 12v at coil.Gunna put another harness and cpu in it before anything.

I dont understand why no one replyes. The black red wire at coil is grouded.Hook up meter from positive side of bat to that wire i get 12v, even w key off. I get contenuity when hooked up to ground .Thought that wires supposed to be 12v positive to my coil. Whats going on?
