121059, Where is fuel pump test connector? 95 eclipse rs

My sister's rs has been sitting idle for a few years. I've been trying to get it going. It cranks, but won't start. From what I can tell from lurking on the net, the fuel line probably just needs priming. It seems the Eclipse does not run the pump unless the engine is cranking. It has a weak battery, so it won't crank for more than five or ten seconds before needing juice from a battery charger.

Anyway, there are a lot of references to the fuel pump test connector. But no one mentions the locaton. Where is it? A picture would be great, or a detailed description.

Um, maybe you should test the fuel pressure with a gauge on the test port on the fuel rail? Just key the ignition on, that turns the fuel pump "ON".

May also check the relay on the firewall on the driver side. One is for Ignition, other is Fuel pump.

Also, get a battery for it!

If it will only crank for 5 seconds, you might want to get another battery before trying anything else. If that doesn't work, figure out what your not getting, spark or fuel, and we can go from there.

I thought these cars won't run the fuel pump when ign is only on???

Can't get it a new battery. My sister is selling it to a somebody that wants to fix it up. She wants to get it running, or at least prove that it runs before talking $$$. Maybe I can get her to kick in for a new battery, just add it to the price I guess.

on the 2G+ models the fuel pump should run when you turn the key to on for about 5 seconds or so... almost all OBD II cars are like that.. i cant speak for the 1G cars though but maybe this link will help you out.

check here i just described how to check out the fuel pump. maybe it will help you..

and first things first, either get a new battery or charge the old one and see if it will take a charge. you cant test anything on a car without a functional battery. :thumbsup
