120877, Thought this was interesting concerning CEL Posted by EventsCo21XL, Oct-20-06 09:57 AM
Hey there everyone. Well I couldn't figure out where to post this link as I'm new to the boards, but I hope I don't upset the moderators here buy posting this here. I appreciate your patience. Anyways on to what I was going to share.
I was just browsing on the net about whatever and happened to come upon this product that I thought might interest some of you. I'll post the link here so you can see what it is
http://www.weapon-r.com/cgi-bin/test/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=2887464.24275*Q60xN2&p_id=00776&xm=on&ppinc=search2
Now here's the explination of what this is from the company themselves if the link doesn't work.
"Tired of that Check Engine Light and your car going into Limp Mode? We have the solution. Our CEL Light Eliminator gets rid of that CEL light and doesnt effect the performance of your vehicle. We carefully test and research the correct amount of O2 carbons which are needed for the vehicle to correctly operate, at the same time we are able to extract the maximum horsepower potential out of the vehicle. Power without sacrifice.."
MSRP: $45 Part# 963-111-101
Now I don't know if this is just an aftermarket O2 sensor or something else but I thought it might be of use to people here. Thank you again for your patience
Keep tuning your 2GNT's and enjoy them.

Haha. Limp mode due to O2 sensor. Or one could simply replace the faulty O2 sensor and call it a day. The thing to remember is, there are a couple hundred reasons why the CEL might activate. This only addresses one issue, maybe, and that issue is really simple to rectify. Sure, the ECU won't go into safe mode if the CLT fails, but it will run like shit until you replace that sensor.
Interestng find, chief, but I'd pass.
