So i replaced the thermostat and let the air out of the radiator. Going to flush the radiator soon. Anyway this is how it goes. SO i start my car drive for only about 5 minutes and the needles up at the red. So stop check under the hood and the theres fluid boiling in the resivor. Also I think this is related but the heater isnt pushing out any heat. Thanks in advanced for any help.

If theres no coolant in the heater core, are you sure there is enough? Are all the air bubles out?

Is it even circulting? Pump could be bad, weeping hole showing anything?

how many miles? could be a bad radiator mine was plugged. after about 105k

and mine after about 115k, fuckin thing eventually just cracked open good thing I stopped

u car was over heating before u replaced the thermostat? if it not maybe its not enough coolant on the system. what happen if is not enough coolant in the block the thermostat wont open and the coolant dont recirculated i hope that help.i got the same problem went i blew a radiator hose.

My radiator hjest fell apart completly at 120,000 mi.

Make sure you have enough coolant in the system. Fill it with the car cold but running. Make sure that the heater slector in the cabin is all the way to hot. fill it and let it run for a few mins, and check the temp. If its still overheating check the thermostat and the waterpump.

Correct.

I had the same problem thought it was the radiator but it wasnt. If your not getting heat from your heater then your heater core is plugged up the engine cycles water from the block through the heater core before the thermostat opens so if there is no water flow through the heater core then the thermostat wont open replace your heater core or put a U shaped hose on the end of your heater lines on your head.
