120335, So where is my coolant leaking from. v.frustration

I was leaking coolant like there was no tomorrow, I thought it was getting spit out due to heat beacause the thermostat was bad.
I've been having a hell of a time. I'm def not a mechanic and I decided to replace my thermostat by myself because it's super easy. I broke the F'ing thermostat housing! I replaced THAT by myself just fine. I turned on the car and coolant came GUSHING out. everything under the hood was dry. It's NOT coming from the cap, radiator or rad hoses. It IS coming from somewhere around the alternator but behind the timing cover so I can see a dang thing. Where's it coming from.
HG was replaced about 1.5 yrs ago with an MLS by the way.

Maybe your heater hoses? Mine crapped out in October and it dumped coolant everywhere.

That's the only thing I can think of at the moment. If one of them popped at a bend, it might have sprayed across the back of the block, looking like it was coming from under the alternator. Reach around under the throttle body and see if the heater hoses are still there and not fucked up.

Water Pump is under the timing cover

Yeah, but it's on the other side. When in doubt, consider the simplest solutions first. Wouldn't it suck to go through the trouble of replacing the water pump only to find that it was a $1 section of hose that could have been fixed in fifteen minutes!

Well the hoses are molded to go around the side of the motor, so I dont think you can use just any regular hose. But they are real cheap at the dealership. The hoses are $18 for both hoses and all the clamps are included.

Actually, Todd. You can use whatever hose you want, so long as it can handle the coolant. I got about three feet from Autozone. Connect it to the firewall inlets/outlets, then give it a loop (nice to have a little slack back there in case they go again in the future) and connect them to the piping on the side of the head.

That's how mine are.

But I replaced my water pump along with the timing belt recently.
I'll check the heater hoses but the leak is def not on the throttle body side :wary

I agree.

and if i could SEE where any of it was coming from then I probably wouldn't need to post asking where it might be coming from. :)

The lines run to the fire wall more on the cam side of the motor.
