I just finished putting my venge back together and I had a question.

ARP Headstuds, do they need to be retorqued after a certain amount of driving? I only ask because I believe it was stated somewhere on this board that it was needed, but am unable to find the thread again. It doesn't say anything in the sheet I got from ARP about rechecking the headstud torque.

I can honestly say that after working on Nissan's for a couple of years, this was almost the most pita job. My water pump went out, taking out the t-belt, and 3 valves. The lifters are a bit noisier than when I took of the head, but nothing a few more dollars in parts can't fix.

No they don't need to be retorqued.

You can re-check the torque on them if you ever have the valve cover off again, just to be sure, but it's not necessary.

You can also overtighten them slightly as a temporary fix if the HG ever starts leaking on you due to a warped head or something.

Unlike the factory TTY bolts that are torque1, torque2, 1/4 turn... the ARP studs are not TTY. As long as you used the ARP moly lube, the torque settings on each bolt should be perfect.
