Well, my car keeping true to it's reputation of being an asshole, decided to take another dump on my face. It was leaking oil from the driver's side rear of the block, which usually indicates a headgasket on our cars. I was holding out hope that it was just the brass t-fitting for my turbo feed line and my oil pressure gauge leaking. Well I was right. It WAS the t-fitting, oh yeah and the HG! I'm going to replace the t-fitting with something other than brass this time. Why does it have to be in the middle of winter when things like this happen? lol. It really makes me wish that I had a garage. I'll be driveway-ing it this weekend.

Sorry, I just felt like bitching. I've got to hear tons of shit from my fiance about how unreliable the car is and how I should buy a new one and blah blah blah. :dark Ugh.

I can't seem to make her understand that I LOVE my car. She looks at it as this "burden" while I view it as a work in progress. Oh well, I'll keep fixing it and keep defending it for as long as I have my sanity. :nuts

Anyhow, I would love to get it to the dyno to tune it and see what it's throwing down, but it's just like every time I say the word "dyno" around my car it gets all freaked out and takes a shit down its leg. Go figure.

Same here. When I grenaded my engine, it sat out for a little while. My parents especially couldn't understand what the f*ck I was doing. But, as long as I'm breathing I'll defend my car!!!!

Just use new ARP studs and you'll be good to go once you replace the HG. If it makes you feel better, I went through a dozen HGs before I figured this out.


To see what I mean about the HG defect, install all the ARP studs into the head hand tight. Then use a straightedge across the tops of all the studs. The ones that are too high have crap in the holes. Now torque them to spec... if they're not perfectly flat, take the high ones out and drill/clean out the holes. It's not necessary since they're studs, but it proves the block machining was done wrong and would cause a leak with factory bolts.

On the fiance/gf topic, my gf just encouraged me to get my Evo b/c she hates the eclipse so much, :) but she does at least realize I love that car almost as much as her and she knows I won't get rid of it. Then she tried saying something about I'm not gonna mod the evo and I told her she was dead wrong about that. She wasn't too happy, lol.

Mine died by way of the head gasket, so I sold that whore for a gsx.
