The last piece of bling you need is a battery tie down. The battery bounces up and grounds out on your strut bar and the flames around your car will be real.

He shouldn't have to worry about the battery. If anything touches that strut bar, it's going to be the ground so it won't matter. I had mine off for months and it never moved around and even survived a deer crash without touching anything.

About the bay, I don't know what kind of theme you are going with. Either go with red OR silver. The two together look tacky like they are now. I would say stick with silver and put the read hoses black. Would like really nice then.

Looks pretty nice! Silver as the primary and red as the secondary goes good. Just make sure you stick with ONE secondary. Don't mix them.

Appearantly you didn't see the post where that kids gsx melted because he didn't have a battery tie-down, did you? Not everyone with a CAI hydro-locks, but the fact of the matter is, why chance it?

If you didn't know, a GST/GSX places the battery in a different spot than a 420a. I don't know of too many people who take jumps with their eclipses either so I don't see how a battery is suppose to short out on a hood otherwise. I've seen it many times though the negative cable on a 4g63 is actually resting against the positive terminal. What if the wire developed a crack in it or something of the sort and actually grounded out on it?

I am willing to take a chance without a tie-down because I don't drive crazy to make the battery move. Sure it can move about an inch, but that's not gonna hurt anything. The terminals and wires are sturdy enough that the battery wouldn't get high enough to touch the hood on my car. I guess just put a tie-down on because it's "safer".

I have not had a tie down for 2 years now and the battery has never moved an inch.I took it off mainly because there wasnt enough room with the intake...However,I wouldnt say it cant move..Or never will move.Anything could happen I guess. As for the colors,I meant to have red a secondary color.I was thinking of putting on red cuplings for the braided hoses too...

Well an easy secondary color improvement would be a Red Top Optima, and as for a tie-down I went down to the local OSH and picked up a piece of Aluminum flat bar then cut it, rounded the edge's, drilled it to match the factory tie-down, and gave it a quick polish. It looks nice.
