the reason I'm asking is because I just ordered the Felpro top end gasket kit from howell due to it being $100+ cheaper than the dealer, and it obviously comes with a Felpro MLS head gasket. I just want to know if I need to scrap the Felpro hg and get an OEM MLS from the dealer. If there's no difference then I'll use the Felpro. I just want to be sure.

Personally I'd say OEM. You also would greatly benefit from ARP head studs, even if the engine is stock. If you don't have the money for both the OEM MLS HG and the ARPs, get the ARPs.

Cool, thanks. I've already got ARP studs on it. I installed them when I was doing the rebuild. I'll get the OEM since I've heard so many good things about it.

Neon Guys have had good outcomes with Fel-Pro products. If you think you will sleep better at night, then go with OEM.

The felpro ones dont look bad at all.

I just want a gasket that's going to hold up to boosting. Does anyone have any experience with the Felpro head gaskets?

I ran the Fel Pro MLS in my first 2gnt and it worked great to me.

im not boosted but i do have a felpro headgasket and have had no probelms for almost four years now...

Ive personally ran 18psi on a felpro MLS headgasket with ARP studs , no problems at all

Well as soon as Howell decides to ship the head gasket kit that I ordered on the 9th (ahem, the same head gasket kit that they told me was IN stock when I called them, and that they said would be shipped out that day, Oh, AND that they said the last 3 times that I've called since that "it's shipping out today"). Don't get me wrong, I like Howell and will continue to use them, but some of the people Gary has taking phonecalls...well, those of you who have ordered from them know what I'm talking about. :)

I'm not hating on Howell either. Most of my orders get here quickly, it just seems that every few orders their Order-takers get "confused" on what IS or ISN'T in stock.
