119906, Unknown Squeaking!!!

I have a crank underdrive pulley. everything is tight and to spec. But... i have squeaking when I'm above 2000rpm. I turn on the A/C and it goes away completly. Could it be my AC clutch catching while its not engaged?

Please someone help me out before I start ripping my hair out.

Well, after messing around with the tensioner. I fixed the squeaking. It was coming from the tensioner pully itself. That was only to find that the bolts actually holding my aftermarket alernator are coming out!!!

hi, I'm having the same problemn with my car now that I got it running again. After 2200 ROM it starts whistling or squeaking loudly.

We just changed the water pump and all hoses, belts and whatnot. Which tensioner are you talking about? The PS/AC belt tensioner? Or the timing belt tensioner?

I would check out everything that is ran by the serpintine belts and make sure nothing is loose. Then if it still keeps making the noise it could be the idler pully with the timing belt too. I've had problems with both at different times on my car. Sometimes in order to find what was wrong I would have to remove a serp. belt then run the car to see if it squeaks and if it still does then I would remove the other serp. belt and see if it squeaks. If it still does when both serp. belts are off you know it has something to do with the timing belt. Remember though when you do this you should just do this while at idle or reving. You shouldn't go and drive your car with both serp. belts off. You will have no alternator power with the alt. serp. belt removed so you don't want to run the car for long or start it a bunch of times otherwise your battery will die pretty quickly so you might want to have a battery charger handy.

Edit: I just relised that was your post Myke so I probably could have saved a lot of typing by not explaining as much like you were a new person here. Oh well maybe some other people might find it helpful. :shrug

The PS/AC belt tensioner <--- makes loud noises, I removed , cleaned and greased mine and it didn't make a sound anymore
