Hi all,

I've got a 97 eclipse gs with a s16g, 8.8-1 forged pistons, rods, total seal rings, bored out 0.020, etc. I'm wondering what the compression is supposed to be on a moded motor. All of the cylinders are at 145-155psi. In stock form, its supposed to be 190-225psi right. I know the compression is going to go down with the pistons I've got but should it go down that much. I'm just curious, because I've got a wierd idle after I blew the doors off an accord with a swapped h22. Any help would be appretiated.

P.S. I don't own a computer(I'd rather spend the money on my car) so I might not be able to check in until tomorrow.

I might suspect the comp check process or bad gauge as opposed to breakage (unless of course she is brand, brand new. Then sometimes it may take longer for the comp to pump up. But even then that would be funny/strange) Doing at WOT with no fuel going in (fuel relay pulled or whatever)?

I used my Matco compression gauge I use on every car that comes into my shop. I'm kinda new with this whole "turbo" thing. I used to mess around with V-8 until my friend gave me a ride in his talon tsi.

How many miles between the engine rebuild and "blowing doors off" things?

Totalseal rings like to spin around, line up the gaps, and become Sortaseal / Totalblowby rings if you push them too hard before they seat completely.

I've switched to JE rings because apparently I lack the ability to break in Totalseal's correctly. I'm sure it's completely my fault and not a terrible design though. ;)

The break-in period was 2000 miles (better safe than sorry) on the motor and we did this 5 years ago.
