I was just wondering what the rubber stopper under the gas pedal is for? is it safe to remove? I also noticed when I was checking to see if my gas was being pushed all the way in when I put my foot to the floor (wow I worded that realy bad haha) and it wasent by like a desent amount of space, is that normal? and can it be fixed a easyer by jus taking that anoying little stopper off or jus tighting the cables removing all slack and such...

I know in the couple of vehicles I've seen that had the pedal stopper removed people got the pedals stuck or broke the throttle cable, i'd just adjust the slider on the manifold if I were you, if that's not enough, maybe trim the stopper slightly, but don't remove it entirely

I don't remember what that thing does, but removing it will do no good. Just because the pedal goes all the way to the floor does not mean the throttle body butterfly will open any further. The car is designed to have that thing under the pedal and still have the butterfly fully open. Just check the cables to remove slack and if you are worried about it then take the intake off with the car not running and have someone floor it to verify the butterfly opens fully. This is really not necessary though. I assure you it opens fully when the pedal goes down as long as there is no extra slack in the cable.

And it's not like in mustangs where removing the rubber stopper will increase speed/throttle response. Do it for mustangs not DSMs.

I had to remove mine, but I have the MP 60mm throttle body, and removing it was the ONLY way to get mine to open up fully. When I removed the stopper, I also had to take out the floor mat because the pedal would get stuck underneath it.

For the factory TB, leave it in.
