Ok, is there some special way of pulling the timing pulley sitting in front of the oil pump?! I have tried using 2 differnt types of 3 bolt harmonic pullers and it doesn't seem like the thing is moving at all!? Any help would be usefull!

nope, i use a 3 bolt harmonic puller, and it worked wonders. got WD40?

i have done sprayed a lot on it! and soaked for almost 2 days. does the harmonic have to have a bolt in the center like the main pulley in order for it to come off?! I am not using one, so that might make a differnce!

a universal 3-jaw puller won't do it, go to the local parts store taht loans tools and ask for a chrysler harmonic balancer puller. That's the one you need to do the job.

x2 on the Chrysler puller, I hvae pulled that pulley 4 or 5 times on mine and will not use anything else now.

Autozone/advanced/pep boys ect will have it most likely in stock.

I am not sure if the Chrysler and mitsu are the same puller, but lets not forget it is a chrysler engine.

yep. that would be the one i have

+2 on that puller pictured above. I believe they are M6 x 1.00 Bolts more than 4 inches long is great. But I only found some cheap 4" at Lowe's. Stack some washers on them(2-3?). They bent, thought they would break, but it 'popped' the sproket right off.

I use PB penetrating oil, a cheater bar about 5 feet long!, and some SAFETY GLASSES ~ DO IT!.

CENTER BOLT: YES on the bolt. If no bolt, what is the center of the puller pushing on?
I used the stock bolt once, but wouldn't suggest it. You may crush it or spin the puller it off and ruin the head. But worked for me.

You'll be lucky if the one in the picture above can even pull it off. The bastard is the hardest thing to get off our cars. I've pulled some that have popped right off and other that I've had to heat with a torch and crank with all my might. Anyway, that's not the point, Mitsu makes a special for pulling that pulley off. Go to your nearest Mitsu garage and ask them if they'll lend it to you. That's what I did and believe it or not they were nice enough to lend it to me. The tool has a ID #, I have the tool number for it at home ... I'll post it up here later so you can ask for it specifically. Anyway, that thing is the best, it'll pull it right off. Good luck.

Well, why i was at work i found some 5 inch m-12 with a flat 1 inch head on them. I am going to try them as soon as it stops raining. i can't wait til i close on this house with a dman garage! lol. but in case it doesn't work i am going to take your advise and go down to Mit. and see if the idoits there even know what you are talking about! lol. they couldn't even find the adjuster pulley for the PS and Ac belt without a part number!
