119044, Aftermarket Coil pack. MSD and Screamin Demon (split topic) Posted by Star Turbo Talon, May-12-07 01:26 PM
I have never heard anyone complain about the pins breaking in a coilpack, MSD or stock. Doesnt mean it doesnt happen but I think if your careless or rather abusive the pins can prolly break easily.
If you want a coil pack for future upgrades then look into either of the screamin demon or MSD. Both are good choices.
I prefer the Taylor plug wires but Accell is a good name brand as well.

I've been told that the MSD is useless, and that if I wanted to upgrade the coil pack on the 420a to just go screamin demon

thanks! the header is doing fine with the exception that its starting to rust where the 4 tubes meet the two all the way to the last pipe, other than that no leaks

Wow, I've just realized I have over 70k miles on my Screamin Demon coil.

Same here. From what I understand
Msd = oem
Msd being Way cheaper.
Screaming Demon = slight upgrade.
Now from what I can measure on the MSD unit that I have, its identical to some OEM ones I have laying around.
I have not had a chance to test a SD unit. Although I am tempted since I am starting to get slight misfires.

From what I read when I had my MSD it was the same output as the stocker just got a pretty name and suppose to be more reliable/last longer.
The screamin' demon on the other hand has more voltage output. If I was gonna buy another buy the screamin' demon. There really isn't no point in a red MSD stock replacement, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and its just a matter of preference.

the MSD pack is totalt garbage and you'd be better off with a stock one in terms of longevity.
