Points to who ever can help me find this headache.

Ok my blinkers won't work at all, at first it was an intermittant thing where they would work then stop for a while.

Now nothing...

I have checked and changed the blinker box behind the radio....and yes the hazards work.

I also have checked the fuse and nothing broken there....I also have looked for any broken wires or such....came up short again...

At this point I can't think of anything else except the swith to the stick on the wheel...

Any ideas would be great

thanks

possibly the blinker switch. there is a small plastic piece inside the switch that brakes (bad engineering IMO), and most of the time when it breaks it is stuck with a left signal.

this can be fixed by replacing the switch, or fixing the broken plastic piece inside the switch. Mind you, there are different switches depending on your year, so you have to get the correct switch. The adapters on the back of those different switches are VERY different, there's no way to get past that easily.

I'm going to make a write-up in the wiki soon, as I did this recently and have pictures.

anyways, in the short term, disconnect your battery and then take off the plastic around the steering column (you do NOT need to take off the steering wheel), and then take out the switch and inspect the internals (you'll see a broken plastic piece easily, if that's what happened.)

I found out what the issue is kind of...I was playing around with the fuse block under the dash and the blinkers started to work...something is loose around the block...wierd IMO.

Anyone else come into this issue?

The blinker in the 2G is purely electronic and not some mechanical blinker module like most late model cars. Typically, blinker issues in this model are the result of a grounding issue, not a "blinker" failure.

Back in the day, owners used to cut the tail light ground wire to get "double fast" blinkers on a 2G. Lame. See what it nets you?
