118851, Crankpulley bolt removal, Need help ASAP Posted by Blmet, Jun-21-07 10:49 AM
I can't get the nut holding the crankpulley off, I am turning the nut counterclockwise (I am assuming that way is the right way since all bolts come off that way) with my socket wrench, I tried having someone hold my breaks but the engine still spins. I placed a bar throught the pulley to stop it from spinning but I still can't get the nut to move. What am I missing?
Edit, Nevermind, I have my jacked bubby come over and force it off

A nice breaker bar and the swing of a hammer usually does the trick for me. Access to air tools is always nice too.

+1 for the air tools, impacts make that an easy job.

To stop your crank from moving you remove your starter and wedge and extra large screwdriver in your flywheel. It is better if you have someone hold the screwdriver.
