11876, Poor idle and hesitation at low RPMs
Posted by fungul, Jan-10-02 08:49 PM
My car has started to idle really bad and at low RPMs it hesitates. The overall power isn't bad at all. If I hadn't already replaced my spark plug wires with magnecore 8.5 about a year ago I would have assumed it was the wires. I tried changing the plugs and the hesitation went away and the idle got a little bit better but it went back to bad like a 100 miles later. I changed the plugs again just yesterday and the idle feels a little bit better and the hesitation is gone again but I'm sure it will come back. The first time I changed the plugs I had rough white on the plugs, this time it was more like a rust color.

Any idea? I thought about changing the O2 but there were fucking expensive so I didn't want to take the chance unless I was sure that was it.

Thanks in advance

Dean.

It may be your wires. Magnecores are known to die. The plugs may be getting fouled quickly because the magnecores are bad. Try changing the wires to either stock, or cheap accels ($30).

yea your stock wires should be fine.. we have a good ingition system as it is already.. no need to really change it unless needed..

you can get o2 sensor that clips right in(some say they dont, but mine did) from nopi for 45 bucks shipped.

Thanks guys. I think I will give some accell wires a try. Thats a hell of a good price on the o2 sensor, Advanced Auto wanted like $169.00.
