I'm almost done with my 14b turbo install but I noticed today after bolting up my the downpipe that the guy who sold me the kit must not have had an ac cause the 02 sensor will not plug in cause the ac is in the way. I just wanted to know how much a shop should charge me to weld in a new O2 bung? I wanted to have an idea of how much it should cost so I don't get ripped off when I go asking around. Thanks.

I'm in the same boat as you. Ripped my downpipe O2 bung out when I dropped my exhaust, whoops!

Concept Illusions sells 02 Bungs for $4. If a shop tried to charge over $40 for parts and labor I'd say thats a rip.

Doubt it would cost more than $20. If you really want to go cheap, just have them weld one on and then go home and drill out the hole yourself so they don't charge you much for labor. Just get some quotes.

That's not a bad idea. I have a lot of tools except for a welder so I might just drill the hole myself. I'm gonna get some quotes but where I live a lot of the places like to rip people off so I just wanted a general idea of how much it should cost. I guess if they tell me more than $30 than it's a rip off. Thanks.

I would bet the price would vary depending if you are paying cash w/o receipt $20 or credit card with receipt $30.

Some people would just drill the hole and JB weld the bung in place but I would go ahead and pay the extra money to do it right especially on a round pipe.

The bonus of drilling the hole yourself, is that you can locate it in your engine bay. Knowing where you want it to be, not where they think it's easiest.

LMAO. That's exactly why i'm gonna spend the extra cash even though i'm seriously broke. JB weld only withstands up to 500 degress. I'm not sure on the exact number but a downpipe will definately heat up more than that. Any person dumb enough to JB weld anything on a downpipe shouldn't be around cars period.

That is good to know about the 500 degree max temp. I have some that I used for some exterior bonding that I wanted to remove. Time to get out the torch!
