Help. Which OBD is used in the 1995 Eagle Talon ESI? It seems to fall in a gray area. Is it the OBD-1, OBD-1.5 or the OBD-II? Do some early production 95's use the OBD-1 and later production models use the OBD-1.5 or OBD-II? Thanks in advance for any help clearing this up.

It's fully OBDII compliant (as far as communicating with a scanner using the OBDII protocol; not necessarily emissions-wise). The 95s also had an OBDI plug, although the definition of "OBDI" is sort of vague as every manufacturer had their own protocols pre-1996.

Thanks for shedding some light on the OBC question. Is there any kind of real time data tracking available for the 1995 Talon (output to laptop, etc.)? I have an intermittent problem. Sounds like a common one but I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to throw parts at it. Every so often the idle will drop when stopped at a traffic light. Putting my foot on the gas will keep the idle up and the problem will disappear after driving a couple of miles. Also every once in a while, if I don't apply the gas when stopped, the car will stall and may or may not start again. It usually will start after letting it sit for a couple of hours. Don't know if it's mechanical, a sensor problem or possibly the ECU. I'd like to solve this problem but if it gets too time consuming (and expensive) I'll probably sell the car "as is" with a full explanation to the prospective buyer.

My car has a build date of aug of 94 and all OBD II scanners work for me.

I'd put my money on the ECU (95 ECUs seem to be dying left and right these days), but there is a wealth of tests you should do first to rule out other possibilities.
