searched on the topic but found everything dealing with having an UDP and no a/c. i have no UDP and plan on taking the a/c out soon to make room for a 3" downpipe, what size belt you guys running? oh and im keeping the power steering as well. cant take it to autozone to try on belts cause its on jacks and undrivable right now. thanks guys

Not sure on that one, I know the PS with no a/c on an UDP set up is a 5 rib 30in belt so it should be just a bit larger. Best bet is to take some string and wrap it around the pulleys and mark it then measure it from the end of the string to the mark you made. Sorry man.

I will give you a Dayco belt # tomorrow, but I do not have a tensioner either, just p/s to crank pulley.

thanks mike, im also thinking about no belts at all. meaning no PS....but ill take that belt # too if i decide that not having PS is too much work when driving.

Oh gosh that brings back nightmares for me. When I was trying to do that I ran back and forth between my house and Napa a good 4-5 times. I now realize I should have just driven the car to Napa.

Get a piece of string and wrap it around all the pulleys you want. You'll then get a feel for the right lenght. UDP are smaller than stock ones right? I could give you the number for that with a stock crank pulley if you want.

well i found the dayco belt i would need... 4050405 if someone could confirm this? also, does anyone have problems with the belt coming off without the tensioner? i know i probably have to depressurize the a/c system, but looked it up here and in my chilton book but doesnt say how to do it.

to get the belt on just use the adjustability of the powersteering pump for tension, loosen the bolts and is swings about 3-4"

to evacuate the ac, its best for your health and the environment to have a shop do it, but you can just pull the cap off the low pressure side (marked with an L) and remove the valve core (like a tire valve core, same tool too) and run the ac system till is stops blasting out of the line. then remove the valve core on the high pressure side (marked with an H)
