Is it possible to wire the turn signals to their own flasher. I can't justify paying satan for the relay thats behind the radio, so is it possible to wire it to a separate flasher?

Why not just replace the relay from a car someone is parting out?
That flasher relay almost never dies anyway. Usually weird blinker problems are ground-related.

That would be too easy wouldn't it :D
Reasoning behind this is, I'm not all too sure if its the relay or not. I have hazards, just no turn signals. And I mean NOTHING at the turn signals. So I wanted to wire up a flasher first (i have like 3 of them laying around) and test it that way first.

The flasher box is looking for a ground signal from the stalk switch to activate either the right or left turn signal. Have you at least checked to see if you can manually ground one of those wires and get the flashers activated?
Seems like that would be easier than re-wiring the signals.

How did you rule out the blinker switch wand? If that's broken, your signals are down, but the hazards will still stay on.
That's a very common problem. A bad relay is less common.

I didn't rule it out. Yet. Good thoughts, I guess I'll do that tonight after work.
Fuck. These are the first of the many elec problems this car is having. I hate elec problems.

I made a writeup in the wiki for that. shouldn't take you too long to check the switch

I got my turn signal switches from a junkyard. $14 for two of them in case one didn't work. Mine was stuck where I couldn't turn off the blinker though.

I had the same problem when i did my MS install. Make sure the white power wires coming from your underhood fuse box have a good solid connection to the positive on your battery and make sure you have good solid grounds. Thats all it took to get mine working.
