Well I was in the process of taking off the old heater hoses that connect at the firewall for the rebuild, when I messed up one of the hard pipes the rubber heater hose connects at, anyone else experience this? I was reading where people bypass this and everything will work fine, how had would it be to replace that hard pipe out of the firewall? Anyone?

That is the heater core. It is up under the dash somewhere, but I have not done one on this car yet, so I don't know how hard it is to do.

thats what I was afraid of, I didn't know if the hard pipes are attached to the core its self, of it they are a connection to the heater core.

did you squash it? I did this while swapping the motor in mine, I just took a large punch and beat it back round, no problems so far

Like I said, I never did one on an eclipse but the one for my cavalier it was all one solid piece that just hooked directly into the heater hoses.

The Heater Core is directly behind the radio, referred from the Haynes manual but Chilton's is the same
