well I changed my head gasket and I think my timing is off just a hair but the problem is the way it says to check timing is align the crank mark tdc and line up the cam gear marks but the problem is i have aem cam gears and they have no marks?any ideas.

Just had an issue with the likes of this. Place the OEM cam gears over the AEM ones and mark where the alignment marks are on the AEM gears. Check out my thread (a little ways down).http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=4&topic_id=89197&mode=full

I have Fidanza's and had to do the same thing. Then just follow the steps for setting up timing.

Make sure you're dead on or you'll have some issues. Except if I remember correctly its exhaust cam up and intake down. I think thats the only way the OE gears will line up. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. I just did this and thats what I found. Timings perfect now though.

I do know that you should mark your AEM cam by placing the stock gears on top.

I think what he means is that the stamped writing should be exhaust right side up and intake upside down

I was referring to the dowels on the camshafts but I should have read better. He probably just pulled the head off to replace the gasket. The gears were never taken off. All he needs to do is transfer the alignment marks from the old gears to the new ones and it should be good.

thanks for the help but the catch is Ive had these camgears on for a few years and my old sprockets are loooong gone..any other ideas?

I just went to a junkyard and picked one up.
