I just finished replacing my timing belt, and now I'm having a hell of a time putting the afx pulley on. I heated it in the oven, but that didn't seem to do anything. I have it on there a little bit by using washers and a longer bolt. But it got to a point that i couldn't keep the pulley from turning no matter how I held it. So I put the wheel back on and lowered the car and put it in 5th. I can barely reach in there with a big wrench to turn it. It's really hard to turn and is taking a long time. If I get a torch and heat it while it's on, will that help? Or will it just expand the bolt as well. Am I doing anything wrong? Thanks. Dom

if you can get it back off, cook it in the oven a LONG time, then beat it on with a mallet. use an impact wrench on the bolt to get it the rest of the way on. it only takes a couple mins for it to cool off and shrink again.

jack her back up, leave her in fifth, and have someone step on the brakes while your torquing it down to 105ft. lbs.

I'm gonna have a shop(haven't picked one yet) change my timing belt soon. If I got an UDP do you guys think that most shops could handle getting it on there? I don't wanna give it to them and have them charge me and extra two hours of work because they couldn't get it on. Don't have time or tools to do it myself... Wish I did. Thanks...

Jeff, most shops should have, at least, the tool to remove to a pulley. I would ask anyway, and tell them about the udp before checking in your car, since it requires heating.
