I seen a couple engine bays in the turbo section and they had their coolant overflow resevoir removed. I was wondering how they did this? I know how to remove the resevoir, but after that, what do I do with the hose that connects to the resevoir? I know Taclipse has his removed along with his crazy clean engine bay setup. Heres a picture of his bay and you can see where it is removed, I just don't know where to run that line.

Actually most chose to relocate the reservoir, not get rid of it. Getting rid of it would not be a good idea.


If you look carefully you can still see the hose coming off of the thermostat housing and it looks like the reservoir is mounted where the evap canister would be

evap canister? wheres that?

if you take off the front bumper and look at the passenger side you will see a box with a bunch of hoses and conectors on it.
thats the evap canister and system.

Then someone else took it off before you bought the car. All model year 420A DSM's had them from the factory.

i know he took it off so what do i do?

some one please correct me if i am wrong but i think if you have no evap canister you will need to run a line from the tank so that that any built up grasses can get out or i think i have heard people drilling a hole in the gas cap to release pressure in the tank to.

When I removed my EVAP system, I left the check valve and the line leading to the gas tank (pointing toward the ground, not in the engine bay of course). Assuming the person that removed his system didn't plug that line, he's probably fine.
