Actually i have been on 2gnt for a long time just never posted. I used the site for info, and there is ALOT i learned for here.

I still say that remains to be seen. With the Quaife you definitely replaced the weakest link.

Look into an individual on the neon boards by the name of "racer steve". He just built an automatic race tranny for a 9 second RT with great success for a friend of mine. Your only other option is probably Darryl Cox, but he was out 6 months on new projects back in June when I called at the time.

Thats so f'n clean the valvecover and engine I could myself in the valve cover lol.

Question, are you freinds with the Magnus crew or Scott at Fabulous graphix I see somewhat same setup going. Yours is prettier the 420a engine :)

So, are you setting your car up for SCCA or will it drag/street.

Hell why not go for 800hp I'm pretty sure we all could reach that number, maybe.

once i push this set up too the limits
im going to upgrade the turbo to a GT42r and go with bigger cams and some custom valvetrain parts

Cost is of no concern when you have the resources to push the envelope in an untested platform.

No everything is the same as my first post. My slicks come in on friday so i should hit the track next week..

Congrats man... glad to see your project getting close to race ready!

I would keep a real close eye on the rods, rod bolts and rod bearings. The Eagles are fine rods, but I'd say you're pushing their limits. It wouldn't be a bad idea to consider dropping in some 4340 I-beams or even some Aluminum rods. High revs and boost seem to really beat the hell out of the rod bearings. I've already been through a couple sets of Clevite rod bearings using only a GT30-series turbo at 30-40 PSI going up to 9k on my street car. Check them often, along with checking the bolts for stretch.

Regarding the trans... if you want to keep manually shifting, consider the NV-T850 trans with a PPG gear set (dog box). You can make it work.

Also, not sure what you've got on the front of the crankshaft... but if it's the stock pulley, ditch it. I've had great success with the ATI Super Damper. They don't make one specifically for our 420A engine, but the SRT-4 2.4L will work. It's the only way I've been able to keep an alt. belt on the race car when going over 9k RPMs. You will need a custom length alternator belt and a 4-rib PS belt, if you even run PS.

If you have any questions please ask. I've tried to push the 420A quite a bit, and it's a great engine... but I've given up on FWD and converted my 2GNT to a 4G63-powered AWD. I really hope to see you pull off what I've always wanted to do... break 700 HP and run 9s! You can do it!

Could you do a video of it "practice run" at your local track, before the SO.

ill post all my vids good and bad i dont expect to be fast off the bat i want to take it nice and slow.

wrapping up the fab work on the front end so it dose not flex any more and im also gonna add an air seperator to the radiator to keep allt the air out of the system to prevet blowing a head gasket and overheating

We've been talking over the last couple of years and one of us is going to knock down that 10.87 this year (if not both). I'm liking Zero's traction set-up much better than mine. He will definitely make it. Just not sure that it will happen today. BUT today's seat time will be critical to his set-up.

Of course, knowing me, I don't think that will stop me from breaking his balls a bit ;)
