I'm looking to make my car sound better I'm looking for a nice sound not ricey more deep. I would especially like to know what it sounds like with the turbo muffler swap as that would be the most cost effective. Any sound clips would be great and how much you paid for your setup. TIA

The guy who had my car before me put on this crooked, yes I mean crooked, not JDM slanted, 3A racing dual muffler I'm looking to throw off the car because I hate it. The sound is pretty awesome and deep, the ugliness is just what I hate.

So, if you just want the sound, look into some mufflers with dual tips such as Megan Racing.

Apexi N1 3inch catback. sounds freaken clean. Not one rasp comes outta of it. Of course i have my turbo to thank for that.

Go N1 I went pacesetter then stright pipe and it soulds like... cant think of the word... hummm... SHIT? Thats why I just ordered a dc muffler, on monday i'll weld it on and post a sound clip if I can.

Pacesetter > CherryBomb glasspack > OEM piping > shitty crush-bent axle-back > Magnaflow > Retarded, 5 yr old tip. On old bottom end. Has since gotten much louder (when it runs). Good for pissing off yuppies on cell phones in rush hour traffic or causing the founder of this board to look upon you with disgust and then walk away rolling his eyes. :)

Yea it is kinda loud lol is it raspy if you rev it real quick and let off fast I've heard a lot of them around here sound like that(raspy that is)

It sounds okay inside the car, but when I drive past sound walls or in a tunnel and wind her out above 3krpm, it's almost embarassing. The cat provides a lot of sound improvement.

I have had a couple different set ups on my car starting with a crap ass 55$ muffler, then a crush bent 2.5 inch system with the crap ass muffler, did'nt sound to bad, then I got the bright idea for a side-exit to be orginal(after which I see everyone and their brother doing including Sport compact car) First it was with 2.5 crush bent and no muffler, that lasted almost an entire day before my ears were ringing, then I put a cherry bomb in the system and toned it down quite a bit but it was still obnoxious but not raspy, sounded ok but not quite what I wanted. Then I saw an Airmass system brand new off e-bay for 135$ and could'nt resist. It sounds great albeit loud. With my header on it burbles and barks when I'm off the throttle and coasting, although when the muffler is cold it will rasp after it gets to 3k, but after it warms up its sounds fine. Its a cheap sytem with one flange for the cat and a slip joint at the over the axle pipe but the by far the best system I've run across for that price and its not to loud at cruising speed on the highway or when your light on the throttle but let off the throttle and you sure as hell hear it.

using Tsudo N1 style exhaust 2.5 inch cat back, sounds amazing, ill try to get a sound clip. Havent heard anyone say anything bad about it. And the price you cant beat. Got mine for 250 shipped via ebay just search for "tsudo eclipse"

I have the RSR exhaust and im told that it sounds like a supra

i didnt know supras had a distinct sound :shrug All the ones i've heard sound just like any other car with a turbo

midnight I would really like to hear yours I was looking for N1 on ebay and seen one of those I'm leaning toward somehting like that I just cant see spending $500 plus on an exhaust system maybe I'm just cheap but it seams a bit much. I could spending a good bit on a turbo setup though }(

i like my a'pexi N1 3" catback a lot. it'll sound better once i'm turbo'd though. for now i just leave the silencer in so it doesn't drone too much.

Mine sounds like a stock turbo eclipse, only with the volume turned up :) That's because I've got a GS-T muffler and high flow cat. It's really a nice balance, only loud when you push down on the go-pedal, and not too loud or raspy when you do; it's a good balance and cheap if you don't need the extra flow.

I've got a ractive catback, with a big resonator on it, and I really like the way it sounds from inside the car... kind of on the loud side, hopefully the turbo will quiet it down some... but its a deep, really throaty sound.. and it has a wicked growl from 2000-3000rpm

of course, that's how it sounds in the car, from outside it could be all farty and annoying.

i know people make fun of matrix products, but i've just got a matrix muffler and it sounds pretty nice, its pretty deep and not weed-wackery or buzzing sounding, of course thats going when i cough up the dough for a 3" exhaust, so i'm kinda curious what peoples exhausts sound like too, don't want one that's too loud?

I have a magnaflow catback exhaust and my eclipse sounds like a vette. I do not lie.

mine sounds like the damn cyclic sound of my turbo all day long.. but its not too loud for being a straight side pipe coming right off my turbo and out side of front bumper. u can see in my pic if u look close. no muffler or cat or nothing.

why would air be getting pushed back in if it comes out the side?

Alright went to go make a sound clip, moved my comp into the garrage and discovered that I have lost my microphone. So I got pissed and went to make a movie and my digital camara took a shit. my car sounds like an outraged lawnmower... or maybe a really angry Sea Doo... but occasionally it makes a wicked whistling sound so it sounds like a race car with a straight dump exhaust... my exhaust is a downpipe that is about 10" long and just kinda ends in the middle of the engine bay.. very loud. very angry.

I have a borla catback exhaust no way to get sound clip..you wouldnt want to hear it anyway the knock the motor puts out is louder..lol...anyways its a nice deep sound...expensive though.

My exhaust on my car is stock with a golf ball size hole in it and i think it sounds great...till its turboed

LOL. I won't flame but I was reading page after page of posts and then noticed on page 3 that it was an old thread. I was ready to get a sound clip of my exhaust to post. :wallbash

I have a no-name muffler at a "jdm slant" with a 2.5-2.25 taper pipe to the stock exhaust and an empty cat.

My exhaust sounds deep and raspy. If i rev it quick, it sounds alot like the stock gst axleback, but with a slighty-audible buzz. I've only had it like this for about a month now and the buzz is slowly but surely going away. :)

And yes, it's loud. I drown out all the sport bike guys around here who blow revs at me and do fly-bys.

I have an aftemarket 3inch DC muffler with Magnaflow Cat. Gives a deep growl with the help from my INJEN CAI system.

My car came with that Magnaflow or Cat-back system stupid me Noticed the silencer when I was installing my DC muffler, I was Dumb found :eek anyway.

uhh, magnaflow muffler on stock everything else, sounds great unless you're sitting and revving it, then it gets a touch of rasp, otherwise, I hear more out of the SRI
