I went to the local parts store here. Coximport.com. They had venom nitrous and all kinds of venom goodies there. The venom intake manifold is big as hell! I want one. they are about 550.

yeah those are really nice but they wont do any good for you unless you are pushing real powa, like 400-500ish HP. Save that $550 for your turbo instead.

Well yeah we sell that 75mm throttle body and intake manifold but its pointless to spend that much unless your actually going to be pushing all that air through it.

yeah, I just said it looked good. I know it flows too much for NT. maybe if I can save and get turbo. ???

I don't think it flows too much for all motor, you just have to get cams, high compression and headwork that are going to need to move that much air. That would really come in handy above 7200 rpm }>

I'm auto. never get to see 7200 RPM's. It says either forced induction or highly modified NA engines.

Ya this mod would be more of a stage 3+ turbo mod, or crazy all motor mod. $550 is a lot of money, so I don't think it would be worth it until you have just about every other cost effective mod on there.

Actually, porting the head is something thats not necessary, and I advise against it if youre going the naturally aspirated route. HRC has shown that the stock head is capable of flowing enough air to support 475+hp. Also, every person I know of that had porting done to their heads lost power, and saw their 1/4 mile times increasing. Shaun Frank being one of them. Unless youre actually forcing air into the opened up ports, youre going to lose velocity.

11701, RE: Venom intake manifold! Posted by eclipse804, Jan-09-02 07:06 PM
Yup, I saw no increase with my ported and milled head, but it may be because I didn't have my cam gears advanced to make up for the milling. Plus, now I have a bad idle.

I don't even think the intake man. is available for our engines. They say it is but if you order it you will never get it cause they didn't realy make one for our engines.

We shall see if Head porting is worth it with cams, headwork, high compression and dyno tuning. . .

well, good news.....it very much IS available for our cars and is in stock. I put my hands on one today ,and I am buying the fuel rail and manifold tomorrow. it will take a GOOD bit of work to get it to where I want it to be, but hopefully it will be worth it..
bring it on............

A fuel rail too! Awesome! How will this bolt up exactly given that we have a lower and an upper intake manifold (counting the plenum).
Whan you obtain this, show us some picks please, Armond!
Thanks a lot!

it's kinda wierd. they make it a little different than the other manifolds. first, they use a REALLY large (larger than normal) ROUND canister on top as opposed to the previous squar shaped canisters, and the runners curve down and slightly to the left making about a 90 degree on each runner, but not a really sharp 90. the canister is pushed to the right a little to allow placement for the throttle body. teh runner inner diameter is abotu the size of my runners now (medium sized). of course the canister and all is thin metal. the canister is not tapped for the factory map sensor, the brake booster, the vaccuum lines, or the pcv. it has a very small hole for the IAC motor on the throttle body. all the vaccuum ports will have to be either tapped or welded in, and the factory map sensor will have to be "custom" (I think I might run a vaccuum hose to the map sensor or something).
The fuel rail setup is pretty trick. they use a standard rectangular type fuel rail with a slot onteh bottom, and you slide in 2 square pieces (one for each bolt) onto the rail. the sloted pieces have a hole for the rail mounting bolts each. the rail also comes with all the equipment needd to install a 95 fpr or block off one side and hook up the original fuel line (of course you can always put an fittings on the ends like I am). the face of the canister looks like it is about twice the acutal csurface area of the factory throttle body, if not more. you could put a HUGE throttle body on this thing with some customization. hopefully i can fit it in my car (I might have to move some stuff around, but it's all good.).
Overall, the manifold DOES require modifications to use (it is not ready to use out of the box), and it could use a good port matching against the intake manifold gasket to thd head, but I don't mind doing this stuff as long as it makes results (and eliminates one more gasket from going bad ;) ).
bring it on............
OH, and the best part is that I will be able to see if it made any power over my extrude/honed/ported polished manifold :).

Definately keep me up to date, I was planning on getting one, but unforseen financial setbacks have made me hold off for a lil' while... But let me know whats up.. does it just bolt onto the lower plenum or is it the whole kit and kaboodle that bolts up to the head? Also, what kind of fitment issues do you expect for holding it and seeing it? How much modding will it require to work? Can you get all the factory sensors to bolt up easily with a little drilling? I wonder how it will effect your idle.. That's one of the things holding me back, I have to have a reliable car when I do drive it.. Keep us up to date! :-)
