11689, Please help...

I'll try to keep it short, but here's the problem. I just finished with the engine rebuild and I drove it around town for about 40 miles for the break-in period. Everything is normal: air/fuel, egt temp, engine coolant temp, oil pressure.

Later that evening, I took it to a friend's shop (strapped to a dyno to take runs) to really break it in. At low speed and rpm's, the car ran just perfect. Then, when the tech took it to 100 mph, the car just shuts down! We couldn't figure out what it is. We checked a lot of things. We discovered that there isn't any spark at the plug wires; swapped in a good coil pack, and still nothing.

The guys move around some of the wire harnesses and it'll start sometimes. And sometimes, when the car is running, it shuts off when a harness is wiggled. We though it might be the cam position, but it wasn't it. We checked some of the connectors, and they all look good and tight.

It gets worse, when we get the car to start and running, the car shuts off IMMEDIATELY when the clutch engages, but it doesn't cut off when I put it in reverse or idling!!!

Has anyone come across this problem or ever heard of it?

For one, 40 miles isn't much if anything of a breakin. You probably did little to nothing to help your rings seat properly.

Check your crank trigger.
