I Will be soon installing my portfueler system soon(i got sick of my nonadjustable fmu real quick), but i was wondering if anyone has some tips for removing the intake mani. I have an atx so i believe i will have to remove the cruse control box that is behind the block. And also i am not sure if it is easier or not to remove the 2 sections of the mani or just keep them together.

To remove the upper portion, if i remember correctly, i needed to removed the bolts from the bottom of the car(using a long extension) and i would imagine the lower portion is best to get too from the bottom too.

Well, I used to think it was easier to take the top half off and then the bottom. It is easier (to me, with a long extension) but it is also longer. If I'm just taking off the intake I take it off all together now. As you stated you need to get the cruise box out of the way. You probably also still have your intake mani support arms installed (they go from the block to the mani, two bars 4 bolts). Then you can access your mani at the head. I use a swivel on one of the bolts, and the one above the alternator is a little annoying. Access for all is from the bottom, for me.

are the intake mani support arms something i need to put back on? After install i am thinking, they will not line up after the portfueler is installed.

I just got my portfueler installed too. I just need the wiring, but the hardest part is done. Its pretty much straight forward. I didnt have to shave anything off the intake manifold, just the valve cover. I had it easy since my tranny was out of the way. Take the top off first then the bottom. To tell you the truth the hardest part was removing two of the studs on the head.

thats what i keep hearing, that its more of the valve cover that needs some work then what hahn says to do in the directions(ie grind the area by one of the injectors).

To remove the upper plentum, grab a long extension with a 10mm socket and take the 5 bolts out. Make sure you disconnect shit up top and dont drop anything down the intake runners cause that would be very bad. I personally think its much easier to take both plentums off at the same time but it depends what you want to do.

The last time I removed the manifold, I used long extensions to remove the upper half first and worked on the bolts from under the car while someone helped. I think it was a longer but much easier process doing it this way.

Also, I think I left off the support brackets, but my manifold isn't the one that came with the car so I don't remember if those brackest are in the car or sitting in a box in the basement with the original manifold.

"IF" the brackets are not there, then they have not been there for at least three years (when I had to remove the head that time I bent some intake valves) with no problems.

damn that one by the alternator is a pita, i can't seem to get it. Any more tips on that one? I see that there is a black bracket over the bolt (not sure what it is for but i remove the bolt holding it in place on the top) but i cant seem to get anything on the bolt for the maini
