Hey guys as some of you may know I purchased a 98 RS about 2 weeks ago. I used the search function here and it came up with a lot, but not what I was looking for. Since both the Neon engine and the Eclipse engine are from Dodge, are there any parts that can be interchanged? My buddy has a 98 Turbo Neon that hes parting out. I bought the fuel return stuff i.e. the Walbro 255 w/Spoolboy return, fuel rail, and Chill Factory RRFPR. Will any of these parts work with an Eclipse 420A? I would like to know if anything else fits as well. Thanks guys,

If its a non turbo 2.0l converted to turbo, the bottom end will work. the head will not work. the fuel system pieces may or may not work dependign on how its setup. The chill Factory regualtor is just a copy of the cartech regulator and is not a good choice to use.

Thanks for the quick reply. Why isnt the Cartech FPR a good one to use? What about the fuel pump, are they the same?

I dont know about the fuel pump. Its a walbro right? the 255hp we use is the GS317 pump. you will find the model id on the side of the pump.

The cartech is known for not rising the fuel pressure accurately as it is designed to. You end up with a lean condition and by the time you know it....its too late.

Thanks once again esp on the info about the RRFPR. Im going to pull the fuel pump out one of these days to see if they're the same.

What would it matter what walbro 255 you're using? Get your wires straight and it'll pump.

I've seen people use 300zx and supra fuel pumps in dsms and hondas. What difference would it make in our cars?

So can I use the Neon DOHC head on my Eclipse (420a)?? I know the neon is reversed I.E. the exhaust is in the back and the intake in front, but if I clean the head up and resurface it really good, would I be able to use it? Lots of salvage yards in my area that have DOHC Neons. Please let me know, thanks guys.

The only thing that is interchangeable is the long block, all related long block gaskets, and the head components such as valves, adjusters...etc)

The fuel pump will not work as it is longer than the RS/GS fuel pump. The Spool boy mod will not bolt up to your RS without "alot" of customization. Just buy a Walbro specific to the RS/GS.

Alot of people use the Vortech SFMU as a starter regulator. I'm still using it after 8 years of turboing the car.

the cams fit and they have higher lift, the 2.0 dohc cams "fit" but it takes some work but its like getting really cheap stage 1 cams
