Well i was looking in my engine bay the other day thinking of was to clean things up. The first thing i thought was smaller battery(thats on the way), and now i am thinking why not lower the fuse box i have heard people relocating it but never doing this.So after a search here and in a couple of other sites, i figured i would post this to see if this has been done.

Now after looking at it more i noticed that the wires would need to be cut, unless there is a plug that i am missing in order to remove the fuse box:shrug

Mostly i am looking for pics/tips from anyone that has done this(if they have)

I wouldnt bother doing that imo. But if you really want to, you could probably move it down into the air box? I cleaned mine up by removing ps, ac, ps resevior and other goodies!

I have removed

all a/c stuff
all p/s stuff
must of evap
all egr
all windshield washer stuff

working on getting ride of

all my heater stuff
heater housing and blower motor under dash
planning on relocating battery and hopefully the fuse box and the engine brain where the heater housing and blower motor are now was going to build shelve for them and make my glove box into a door to get to all of it like the battery mustly lol

Ralph, If you move to megasquirt, you can remove it all together.

Maybe one day i will switch to it but right know i am running the portfueler system for my fuel needs.

dude, ms does a whole lot more then just fuel. Sounds like you should read up on it a bit, may be just what you need.

Why not relocate the battery down to the entrance of the old air box? Here is a pic of my temporary set-up;



I just had to re-route some wires, but did not have to change any. I have since cleaned it up with nicer bracketry and a mini battery, but the car is on the trailer right now.

Thanks but i am well aware of what ms can do, i was just stating it is not worth(unless i ditch the pf and use the ms for everything).

I like that idea and i will look into it more, i will have my new battery here on tues and i will see if i can make it fit in that location.
