I have InjenRd CAI sytem but I would like to replace the 2.5 cone Injen Filter that came with it.

Could I use the 2.5 AEM DryFlow air filter, if so should I put a cover on it or would it matter.

I know you guys would recommend the K&N but where can I find one on the web. I prefer the web the prices are lower than local store.

Point is my Injen filter is dirty and I cleaned it following the KN instruc. and KN oil and its not turning the red color. If it came down I'm gonna go the Short ram route instead. but I like the sound of my CAI

You're overthinking it and K&N filters are overrated.

No point in running a cold air intake in the summer anyway. You can run a flex pipe from the hole where the airbox used to be to somewhere in your front bumper to draw cooler air to the filter if you prefer.

It shouldn't be a problem using the dryflow on a Injen unit. It is afterall only a filter and a pipe.

I'm not computing the part about the filter not turning red when you are cleaning it....?

I have one for sale but it has a 2.25" opening (stretechable to 2.5" if you know what you are doing) if you are interested. I bought it just to see what was soo special about the filter after seeing it on a Group 5 rally car last year.

If the K&N oil isn't turning the filter red and the filter media is white, either the filter isn't dry or the oil dye has faded. spray the oil on a sheet of paper and see if it turns red. if the paper turns red then let your filter dry longer.

+1 Eric correct again, the oil is new I just open my recharge kit. I sprayed the oil and let it sit longer than what it kn recommends. After about a hour wait the injen filter turned red.
I might need to spray it one more time, more red the better
