hey, so ive had a pretty bad oil leak for a while, like ive been adding oil frequently. After a ton of searching ive pretty much decided it is the head gasket on the back of the drivers side. I guess the oil sending unit is pretty bad for leaking aswell, but im sure mine is alright. Its pretty dry all around it. The entire back drivers side of the engine is pretty much full of oil and the leak spots on the ground are about 4 spots, maby 2 inches apart. I cant really see Where the head joins the block from under or ontop of the car, so i cant be certan it is the HG. Is there anything else i should be looking for in that generial area that can throw out that much oil in such a short time? I'll be replacing the HG with new head bolts and timing belt with a waterpump (hopefully) May long weekend with some friends and a 24 or two so if it is the HG ill be holding out until then.

I also got the pleasure of getting a code 31 yesterday, i dont even want to look for that right now though. Thanks for any help.

From those symptoms, to me it sounds like a headgasket. i would highly recommend the ARP headstuds while you've got everything apart. Might as well change the timing belt.

sounds like the infamous "Drivers Bolt" leak

i would also second the recomendation of ARP hardwear, go with the Studs and you wont leak there again

if you never changed the HG and no one before you did it then it guarenteed to be the headgasket. replace/clean/inspect. you may have about 5 leaks in that area all at the same time.

Hopefully you've budgeted time and money for having the head milled for the new MLS gasket. If not, don't be surprised if it's leaking again a month from now. That's how they roll.

I was going to have it checked but I didnt know i had to have it milled. Is this an automatic thing i need or just if the head is warped? What would i tell the shop when getting this done?

Only if it s warped. I have changed them and had them seal fine but your gambling on it. The best way is to have it checked.
