I don't know what happend, last night i was driving home from work fine until i pull in the driveway....


Car starts to stumble then get a new cell light 43. I was to tired to do anything then so i went to sleep, today i started her up to see what would happen well it still runs but not right then after a couple of secs i see gas coming out between the turbo and the exhaust mani


Thoughts? I think i lost compression and my motor is toast(sorry i am thinking the worst) i have no way to check it out though so i am not to sure. Is it possible the injectors are running so rich that there is a bunch of fuel not being burnt up and coming out the exhaust.

43, misfire I believe. check your plugs and wires etc. you might just have a shat plug.

i replaced the plugs, wires, coil, and put in new injectors about 3 weeks ago.

I'd still double check. maybe even check the injectors since you just changed them, you might have a bad one that only lasted a few weeks and is just pissing into the cylinder

How would i check the injectors though? I could pull them back off but what would i look for?

Did you bother to wait for the engine to warm up to operating temperature?

i was to worried to let it it run for more then a couple of mins(due to the fuel coming out the exhaust).

But i just got done checking for spark and that is fine in all cylinders .

I also removed power to my portfueler system to see if that would make a difference and still no(i am assuming all it takes to keep the the 4 portfueler injects from firing).

I'd be willing to bet that if you let it run and let it warm up, what you're seeing will stop. If it were really running so rich that raw unburnt gas were coming from the exhaust manifold, you'd have a CEL 52 and probably a 21, too. If you have a blinky-light A/F gauge, does it cycle after the car idles for a few minutes? Otherwise, what does your wideband say?

the wideband says i am running real rich(aka 11 at start up and even when i turn off the car it will say 9-10 till the gas fumes go away)


I will try letting it run more tomorrow to see if it stops but that just worries me trying that.

Why? it's not going to hurt anything.

There is only one way to deal with that fuel in the exhaust.

nah, put it in the manifold, anti lag!

whelp i think i fixed her, i put the original injectors back in and rest the computer and it works great now(i guess one of the new injectors was bad).

But i even went back and did another compression test now that that works and i am getting a nice 210-220

nope still not fixed, it was not what i thought it was but it is now narrowed down.

I found all is fine now cause i never hooked the portfueler back up, and when i plugged it back in today it did the same thing. But i am not sure if it the portfueler itself or if it is the secondary injectors? I am going to check all my wiring again and see if anything came loose if not looks like i will be giving hahn a call

Have you checked the software? perhaps your map is wrong. You might be somehow triggering the secondaries at less than atmosphere, or it might be a bad portfueler.

I just got the cable and the software in the mail yesterday i am going to dl the map right now(though i am pretty new and this an not sure what i should be looking for). I was also shooting emails to hahn yesterday and the tech is starting to think mine is shorted out.
