4-29-08 this afternoon, I put the date because the post date is kinda off abit.

Its a 3.0L from a 01 Dodge Intrepid my brothers he had for it for about two years, asked me to him pull it because he has to replace the pistons,rods, and bearings. I never pulled a motor but this is just a practice when I pull my 420a/ Trans. from my Eclipse, and rebuild them. I might have to help him pull a 00 neon motor also it was our mothers and it sat for about 5yrs. I'm pretty its siezed up, my bro.

let you guys know how it went I'll snap a few pics with my cam phone.

good luck. The Intrepid is gonna be set up really different from the mitsu and neon so it won't be that much help. Go buy a ton of zplock sandwich baggies and lable the shit out of everything you pull off the car and engine. be specific with your lables.

I know its a different platform from mitsu and neon.

This is just a practice pulling a enigne from a car I wouldn't touch it if was a Ford.

Thank god we don't own Fords.

I must say that it appears that my ribbing about the sentence structure did some good! Your response post was WAY easier to read than anything else that I've seen you post.

Update:
I took an hour drive to his house, notice he was working on his Neon he got it to crank over thats a plus but he can't get it to spark. Told him to go to neons.org replied back okay I'll try that but I have a mechanic coming over to help too.
I looked at his Dads Intrepid in the garage saw nothing was done to the car before I pulled up, he started to laugh because he knew I was gonna bitch abit about it. He said ahh don't worry get to work.
So it looks like my brother is having me pull the motor myself, what a lazy ass. I fig'd he at least removed the small crap, like air box front bumper/HD lights, battery stuff around the engine. All I had to do was to unbolt the mounts and hook the engine to the cherry picker and lift it out, about a two hour job. He had removed the engine once before, to replace the bearings. He spun them again due to an half ass job he installed them thru the oil pan.

After bs abit I drove to the nearest DG bought a few boxes of zip-bags. Came back took my time removing the front bumper, Hd lights air box, brackets for the radiator put the small bolts, and labeled them. put them next to the parts I removed so we know where they. My brother laughed and asked whats with the baggies, I told him fig'd out choad haha Its a reminder to let you know where the bolts go to, plus being neat and organized too.

I have to work all week so I'm not sure when I'll go back down there. Probably early Monday since thats my scheduled day off, but I'm always on call people tend to pull the No call No show routine abit too often.I'm not worried about it I get the extra money in my pocket, and possible second raise. Just had a six eval, w/ a raise before our store shuts down and before my transfer to another store closer to home

I have a tradition of using an empty 18 pack box and putting the sandwich bags in order in the box as I remove them. That way when you are reassembling the motor all the parts are in order.

That's pretty ingenious! plus if you get a full 18 pack to start with then you've got something to motivate you to fill the bags :7

Sharpie markers work great for labeling the bags too :)
