Im having some trouble under hard acceleration...

it seems like right about after 4000rpm the gas just opens all the way then the engine starts bouncing off the rev limiter..and most of the time only have the gas pedal half way down...

also does anyone know how to get the red SRS light to turn off on the dash?

thank you any help is appreciated this has been driving me crazy for ahile now

well i will have the pedal half way down but once i past a little after 4000 the pedal just get loose all the way to the floor board and the engine starts reving off the red line

so at 4000 the pedal drops to the floor and suddenly revs sky high?

exactly...

when i stop and pull over the throttle body is stuck wide open...
so i tap it closed start it back up and it was like nothing ever happen...

happens everytime i do that too just right after 4000

and it sinks to the floor by its self i know that sounds dumb but if i keep my foot in the same half point position the pedal just goes down by itself

I haven't seen it happen before on a 2gnt but it doesn't mean it can't happen. Sounds like your throttle body is jacked up somehow, possibly even the throttle cable is stuck.

quick thought, do you have cruise control?

hehe i've seen this before.
when i rebuilt my engine i neglected to reattach my grounding straps. therefore it was grounding out through the throttle cable and causing it to stick open.

so to check that:
with the car off can you press the throttle to the floor and it returns normally? if not id bet its a welded / damaged cable.

if it does then id take the cover off the cruise control housing and check for anything in there. ad check your springs in all the places to make sure they aren't broken or misseated

also i forgot to mention that it is kind of hard to depress the pedal and it is also so to return when i do press it...

do you have cruise control?

check the spring in the Throttlebody and make sure there arent any broken coils.

SRS is airbag. you need to have someone with an automotive scanner reset the light if the problem is fixed. There is no sensor or moduel under the dash. If you want to disable the airbag then under the console in the brain. remove it.

I was thinking i might go down to the pick a part tomorrow see if i could pick one up...

but to take off the cruise control servo you just take it all the way off and just let the cable be by itself like that?

Disconnect the vacuum to the servo. Disconnect the cruise control relay as well.

If you are interested in still using cruise I removed the entire assembly from my car. We could come to an arrangement I'm sure.
